Belgium and Canada vow to arrest Netanyahu if he enters their territory

Several countries have declared they would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he enters their territory, and the Next Leader Out Before 2027 market now sits at 15% YES, up 15 points.

The ICC issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu on November 21, 2024. Belgium, Canada, and other countries have since stated they would detain him on arrival. Traders in the Next Leader Out market have pushed odds higher as these declarations accumulated, pricing in the possibility that restricted movement and diplomatic isolation translate into real political vulnerability.

This matters because an Israeli prime minister who cannot travel to major allied nations faces a concrete constraint on governance. A YES share at 15¢ pays $1 if resolved, a 6.67x return. That bet requires believing that the combination of legal exposure and political pressure will force Netanyahu from office before 2027.

Key things to watch: whether additional ICC member states commit to enforcing the warrant, whether coalition dynamics in Israel shift in response, and whether Netanyahu attempts diplomatic workarounds. Increased domestic opposition or further international isolation would likely move this market higher.
