PRE DEX Sets Sail: The APAC Journey Begins
Premium Exchange3 min read·Just now--
From 100 Days to the Emergence of a Structured Ecosystem
Over the past 100 days, PRE DEX has completed an important leap forward.
At the APAC exchange event on April 11, Ryan Mitchell, representing the PRE DEX operations team, joined representatives from Navi Protocol and regional communities to reflect on this phase of growth and outline the direction for the next stage.
This was not just a milestone review, but more like a confirmation of an emerging structure.
Ryan Mitchell: From Product to Structure
In his opening remarks, Ryan presented a key insight:
The past 100 days of PRE DEX represent a transition from concept to validation.
When PRE DEX was first introduced, the team aimed to address a more fundamental question:
Beyond traditional DEX models, is there a more efficient way for value to be discovered, amplified, and circulated across a network?
After 100 days of internal testing and operation, this question has received its initial validation.
Ryan noted that across user participation, community expansion, and overall capital activity, PRE DEX has demonstrated strong early performance.
But more important than the data is another shift:
The structure of users is changing.
Participants are no longer just traders, but increasingly include community builders, evangelists, and long-term ecosystem contributors.
This signals that PRE DEX is evolving from a product into a structured system.
A Global Network Taking Shape
This emerging structure is not abstract.
Currently, PRE DEX communities span over 20 countries and regions, reaching more than 800,000 users, with over 20,000 core active participants.
In several key regions, stable offline community connections are forming:
- Osaka, Japan
- Penang & Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Seoul, South Korea
- Islamabad, Pakistan
Offline events in these regions consistently attract 80 to 150 participants per session.
This indicates that PRE DEX is no longer expanding solely through on-chain activity, but is increasingly rooted in real-world social connections.
Navi Protocol: From Growth to Structure
Daniel Wright from Navi Protocol provided a broader perspective during the session.
He pointed out that PRE DEX has successfully completed its first phase: establishing user scale and community foundation.
What comes next is a new stage.
At this stage, the focus shifts away from simply “how many users,” toward:
- How users connect with each other
- How value flows within the system
- How different roles coordinate within a structure
The transition from growth to structure is a necessary step in the maturation of any system.
Daniel also emphasized that the next phase of PRE DEX’s growth will increasingly rely on community leaders and evangelists.
Community Perspective: From Participation to Co-Creation
Insights from Japan and Southeast Asia communities made this transition more tangible.
In these regions, PRE DEX is not just represented by data, but by real people, relationships, and networks.
Community leaders shared that in the early stages, users were primarily focused on participation itself.
But as the ecosystem evolves, their focus is shifting.
More and more users are beginning to think about:
How to participate in the system over the long term
How to build connections with others
How to become part of driving this ecosystem forward
This shift reflects a change in user identity.
From participants to builders.
An Emerging Structural Node
From a broader perspective, this transformation is not isolated.
The Sui ecosystem is evolving from infrastructure toward a financial system.
And within this process, PRE DEX is transitioning from a product into a structural node.
Within this node, three key elements are being connected:
- Value discovery
- Capital flow
- User participation
And at the center of this structure lies the community.
Expanding Across APAC and Beyond
Looking ahead, the APAC region will remain a key area of expansion.
From Osaka to Kuala Lumpur, from Korea to Mainland China, PRE DEX continues to grow its community network.
But these cities represent more than geographic expansion.
They are nodes within a network.
Connected together, they gradually form a larger structure.
Conclusion: A Journey Just Beginning
The first 100 days of PRE DEX mark a beginning.
What we are witnessing is not just growth, but the gradual emergence of a structure.
As Ryan concluded in his speech:
PRE DEX is still in its early stage.
And precisely because of that, there is still an opportunity for everyone to participate in shaping what it will become.
PRE DEX has set sail.
And the real journey has only just begun.
