Fiorentina and Bologna both have their eyes on Luca Koleosho, the Burnley-owned winger currently plying his trade on loan at Paris FC in Ligue 1.
From Espanyol to everywhere
Born on September 15, 2004, Koleosho came through the youth ranks at Espanyol before Burnley came calling in July 2023. The total package reportedly cost the Clarets around £2.6 million plus £860,000 in add-ons. He made 15 Premier League appearances for Burnley during the 2023-24 campaign, registering 1 goal and 1 assist. Burnley were relegated that season. Rather than have him stagnate in the Championship, Burnley sent Koleosho to Paris FC on loan. Paris FC reportedly hold a buy option as part of the loan arrangement.

Koleosho’s recent decision to represent Italy at senior international level is the single biggest factor tilting the scales toward a Serie A move. He earned his first senior cap for the Azzurri in a recent friendly. He also played a vital role in Italy’s success at the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
Fiorentina and Bologna are the two names most prominently linked, but reports indicate that Genoa and Monza are also monitoring the situation closely.
What this means for investors and the transfer market
Burnley hold the cards. The original transfer fee of £2.6 million plus add-ons sets an interesting baseline. Given Koleosho’s international breakthrough, his age profile, and the competitive interest from multiple clubs across two leagues, Burnley could reasonably expect to turn a profit on the deal. The key variable to watch is Paris FC’s decision on that buy clause. If they pass, with four Italian sides reportedly interested, the competition alone could push the final fee well above what anyone might have expected when Burnley first signed him from Espanyol.
