With 48 teams, 104 matches, and 16 venues spread across the US, Mexico, and Canada, the tournament running through July 19 represents a massive stage.

Kraken was named the Official Crypto Exchange Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on June 9. The partnership is designed to push crypto adoption among fans across North America and Europe through product experiences and events tied to the tournament.

Chiliz, the blockchain company behind the Socios fan token platform, has been building toward this moment for years. Fan tokens tied to national teams are expected to be a focal point for trading activity as the tournament progresses.
The ARG fan token is currently valued around $0.41 with a market cap of approximately $7.5M. That’s a tiny float, which means even modest inflows of speculative capital can move the price significantly.
Prediction markets add another layer. Crypto platforms now allow fans to place real-time trades around match outcomes, creating a parallel economy of speculation that runs alongside the traditional sports betting market. As matches commence, these platforms are expected to see a surge in activity.
The countdown concert sets the tone
Before a single ball is kicked, the World Cup Countdown Concert is scheduled for tonight, June 10, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Headliners include Davido and Major Lazer.
The venue choice is not accidental. Crypto.com paid $700M for naming rights to the former Staples Center back in 2021, and hosting a FIFA-sanctioned event there creates a neat feedback loop of brand reinforcement.
