Building an Actionable Yield Campaign System for a DeFi Protocol

Summary

I designed and built a multi-protocol yield campaign system for Liqwid Finance to turn fragmented DeFi primitives into clear capital allocation decisions. What began as an effort to promote protocol features evolved into a behavioral and product challenge: translating onchain data into executable user flows that drive capital deployment.

By mapping market conditions to specific step-by-step strategies (looping, farming, hedging), I shifted users from passive holding to actively deploying capital across lending, borrowing, and liquidity strategies. These campaigns became a repeatable activation system for the protocol and drove a 3x increase in engagement, serving as a leading indicator of improved user participation and strategy adoption.

Context

Liqwid is a decentralized lending protocol on Cardano. The core problem wasn’t awareness, it was activation.

Users had capital sitting idle because:
- advanced strategies were too complex
- cross-protocol flows weren’t clear
- yield sources (interest vs. emissions vs. LP rewards) were misunderstood

Even when rates were attractive, users didn’t act because they couldn’t translate protocol mechanics into positions. Growth in DeFi is not driven by attention; it is driven by how clearly users understand what to do with their capital next.

Problem

The challenge was turning fragmented DeFi primitives into clear, executable capital allocation decisions. This was not just a content problem; it was a product and behavior problem:

- Users didn’t know what action to take next
- Dashboards exposed data but not decisions
- Strategies required stitching together multiple protocols mentally
- Marketing focused on features instead of capital deployment pathways

What I did

I designed yield campaigns as decision systems, operating at the intersection of product, growth, and capital behavior.

Constraints

This system was built under lean-team and fast-moving market conditions:

Outcome

The result was a repeatable activation system that translated protocol state into user action — connecting onchain data, strategy framing, and capital deployment into a single loop.

This established a repeatable loop: protocol data → strategy framing → user action → capital deployment.

What this proves

This work demonstrates that I build systems at the intersection of product, growth, and capital behavior. It shows I can:

Key Insight

Growth in DeFi is not driven by attention or feature releases. It comes from reducing the gap between:

Most protocols expose data. Very few translate that data into decisions users can act on immediately. That gap is where capital activation and real growth happens.
