B8 punched their ticket to the next round of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 on June 9, dispatching BIG in a 2-1 best-of-three series during the Stage 2 Swiss round. The result means BIG, one of Germany’s most recognizable Counter-Strike organizations, is out of contention at a Major being held on their home soil.

B8 secured their wins on Ancient and Overpass. BIG managed to claw back one map to force the full series, but ultimately couldn’t close the deal when it mattered most.

This loss was the final door closing for BIG. In a Swiss bracket, there are no second chances once you’ve accumulated enough losses, and this defeat was the one that sent them packing.

B8, meanwhile, keeps climbing. Their reward for beating BIG is a matchup against FURIA in the next round of the bracket.
